NEW GLOBAL RECORD WITH 3.4 MILLION COVID-19 INFECTIONS PER DAY Health networks around the world today confirmed almost 3.4 million COVID-19 infections in the last 24 hours, a new daily record at a time when the omicron variant is already dominant, according to provisional data from the World Health Organization (WHO). The same number of new positives were recorded in a single day as in the first four months of the pandemic, and the accumulated figure for two years is 312 million, a conservative figure, since the WHO estimates that many of the cases have not been diagnosed or reported to the health networks. The exponential upward curve of infection continues without affecting the death toll, which remains stable at around 7,000 deaths per day (7,700 in the last 24 hours). Guillermo Lasso uses Tik Tok to assure that instead of 'pacts' he chooses 'the welfare of Ecuador' The president of Ecuador, Guillermo Lasso, used the social network Tik Tok.Lasso published a video recorded at the headquarters of the Ecuador Libre Foundation, with two options. On one side, there is a box with the text Pactos Políticos (Political Pacts). And on the other side, there is another option with the caption El Bienestar del Ecuador (The Welfare of Ecuador).  In the film Lasso chooses the option of the welfare of Ecuador and ends the video with a heart containing the colors of the flag. "Ecuadorians gave me their trust and I will not let them down", is what is read in the message.

  GUILLERMO LASSO'S TRIP TO CH I NA CONFIRMED Ecuadorian President Guillermo Lasso will make an official visit to China in February, coinciding with the Winter Olympic Games, in an attempt to renegotiate the more than US$5 billion debt with that country and strengthen bilateral relations. "We have an official visit with a scheduled agenda and whose work began a few weeks ago," said the minister, who took office last Monday. In that visit will be addressed "seven points" and one of them is the debt of "just over 5,000 million dollars" that Ecuador still has with the Asian giant.
